About

Welcome to 911DAD.com

My name is James Bruno and I am a career firefighter and licensed paramedic, husband to Emily (of Grace and Good Eats), and dad to our three kids Isabella (2007), Sophia (2012), and Ian (2015).  We recently moved from the suburbs of Fort Worth to a small town in East Texas with less than 1500 people.  (You can follow along with our move to the country here.)  When I’m not at the fire station, you can find me at home working on projects around the house and playing with my kids.

Here at 911DAD.com you will find all things tech, travel, food, family, and firefighter approved.  I hope to share ideas to inspire you to be your own how-to hero.

When I’m not fighting fire at my “day job”, I also volunteer at my town’s volunteer fire department.  We are a small department, led solely by unpaid volunteers without any tax dollars from the city.  We rely on the support of donations to purchase things like equipment, gear, and training for our small team.  If you would like to donate to this worthy cause and support a small town volunteer fire department, click here or on the image below.
